Working with safe water-based oil paints rolled onto a flat surface with a brayer, we will explore what can came through us from our own heart. After rolling out the paint (usually one or two colors) we will place a piece of tissue paper on top of it. Then using only our fingers and hands we will create marks on the dry side of the tissue and transfer feelings and movement from deep inside of ourselves. Successive pieces of tissue are laid down on the paint-covered board during the class. An occasional re-inking of the board will take place. Each tissue is lifted and we see a reverse image on the inked side. Our hands never touch the paint unless you want to. We can even close our eyes and allow the process to flow. Later, we number the tissues and name them. Afterwards we meet together to discuss what people are feeling. With the remaining the time I will demonstrate how the tissue art can be mounted and augmented with crayons, ink, colored pencils, glitter, etc. The process is for everyone with or without any experience and is very calming and meditative. Materials Needed: Please bring along a small mix of your favorite colored pencils, crayons, markers and other art supplies and a piece of 16" x 22 " foamboard, mat board or some other firm support to mount your chosen tissue art. The instructor will also be bringing materials for use by all. Beginner/Intermediate / Minimum 3 students, Maximum 10 students.
