Saturdays, August 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th - from 10am to 11am
This month we will take a trip back to Ancient Greece where we will look at their incredible vases. Greek vases were created in clay using a coil technique. The different colors of the vases (black, red, and brown) were often due to multiple clays being used.
We will create two versions of our very own Greek-style vases: a smaller one made from clay, just like they used to do - and a large one made out of plaster!
This is a session not to be missed!
This super-fun art class focuses on process, rather than product. Process art allows children to explore and make connections without the pressure of "right" or "wrong" ways to do things. It helps develop creativity and self-esteem by focusing on what kids imagine rather than their skill level. With excitement and interest in their own creations, kids grow curious and naturally start developing those skills. I keep the group small so that each child can have as much attention and guidance as they need to create and learn!
Ideal for kids 4 to 11 years old.
ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED! Bring only your smile and creativity and dress casually (things may get messy!)
Instructor: Glaucia has an MA in Art Education and has been teaching art to kids for over 15 years. She is an exhibiting artist with the Studios of Cocoa Beach, loves the ocean and the privilege of living where people vacation!
