Felting is an ancient technique to create fabric from wool that has been around since at least 6500 BCE! Felt is a non-woven textile made of wool or animal fur. There are different ways to create felt: one is with soap and water, and another is with a felting needle. Regardless of the process, the action of felting binds fibers together creating a permanent bond, and making the felting process irreversible.

We will learn many different ways of creating prints. Once you have the basics, you can use printmaking techniques to create abstract artwork, journal pages, greeting cards, printed fabric, and much more.

Learn the basic functions of your camera so you can begin to shoot in manual mode, capturing higher-quality images of the people and places around you.

In the course of 6 weeks, we will be learning different methods of handbuilding with clay - pinch pot, coil, and slab.

This class will be a 6-hour immersion in YOUR own picture. We will begin with the layout and what each participant is needing to accomplish in their painting.

This week we will be designing and creating wearable artwork. From hats to tee-shirts and tie-dye to batik, we will have fun learning new ways to embellish fabric, and yes, even some sewing skills!

This class is for ALL levels. Join Jan in the morning with coffee and a fun painting experience. We will paint this quiet watercolor painting of a sand fence and path heading to the ocean.

Join Jan in an afternoon at the beach without the sand and sun! We will paint this relaxing acrylic painting of a row boat in the sand being overgrown with beach flowers.

July 6th, 11th, 18th, 25th- 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm | This 4-day watercolor class will allow the participant to bring their own picture to paint. We will have fun developing the painting in 4 classes with various techniques and critiques.
