Dec 18 | Beginner Needle Felting: Make a Felted Gnome! All ages welcome
December 18th from 6 to 8:30 PM
Learn the basics of felting to create a whimsical three-dimensional gnome. Perfect for the holidays!
What is Felting?
Felting is an ancient technique to create fabric that has been around since at least 6500 BCE! Felt is a non-woven textile made of wool or animal fur. There are different ways to create felt: one is with soap and water, and another is with a felting needle. Regardless of the process, the action of felting binds fibers together creating a permanent bond, and making the felting process irreversible.
If you have never tried needle-felting, it can be quite a calming, enjoyable, and meditative process despite its repetitive motions.
In this two-hour class where we will explore and experiment with needle felting to create one two-dimensional and one three-dimensional artwork.
ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED!
This workshop is open to all ages, but children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult as there will be limited supervision.
