There is nothing like the richness of an oil painting and there is nothing like working with oils.
In this four-week oil painting workshop emphasis will be on mixing colors, composition and the process of working in this exciting medium. We will start with an exercise on mixing paint to create vibrant rich color. Then we will paint samples of different still life items concentrating on shading and blending and creating the illusion of the 3D shape.
Students will then create a still life composition with the goal of working toward a finished oil painting. Instructor will direct students in using color as value, color mixing, composition and quality of brush stroke.
Some experience in drawing and/or painting is preferred.
*Make up classes available if you can’t make all the dates.
Cost- $250. *This fee does not include materials. There is a material’s fee of $35 to be paid on the first day of class. Students have the option of bringing their own materials. Ask for a material’s list by contacting the instructor.
*It is helpfull to bring an assortment of your own paint brushes since instructor's inventory is limited.
