Sep 11 | Introduction to Oil Painting

Are you an aspiring artist? Maybe you have dabbled in drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting or have tried painting in oil.
Imagine that oils have been around of hundreds of years, the medium of famous artists found in all of our treasured museums around the world. There is nothing like the richness of an oil painting and there is nothing like working with oils.
This four-week oil painting workshop is an introduction to this exciting medium. We will start by exploring the medium itself by mixing vibrant secondary colors, making darks and greys. Then we will begin creating a simple composition with the goal of bringing the work to a finished oil painting. Emphasis will be on using color as value, color mixing, composition and quality of brush stroke.

*Make up classes available if you can’t make all the dates.
Cost of the class is $250. This fee does not include materials. There is a material’s fee of $35 to be paid on the first day of the class.
Instructor Bio: Weinreich has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Florida International University and has been a professional artist for over twenty-six years. She has the experience of teaching art and doing art in a number of mediums. She believes there is an artist in everyone.
