Presenting: Nikki Day and Iris Beate Struller

TWO DISTINCT ARTISTS

Nikki Day, with “The Next 40 years” and

Iris Beate Struller “Around Town”

Opening Reception Friday, July 5 | 6pm-8:30pm

The Studios of Cocoa Beach Presents an Exhibition of Two Artists in July.

The July Exhibition runs from Tuesday, July 2 through Sunday, August 4.

Meet the Artists Nikkie Day and Iris Beate Struller at the reception for this exhibit held on Friday, July 5, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.  Wine and other refreshments will be served.

Nikkie Day, as a budding artist, had to paint in the shadows. Growing up she had different ideas than what she was raised to believe. As she traveled the world, she stole glances of various cultures in third world countries ultimately encouraging her artistic tastes, “like the blood nourishes the body."

“When you see my art, I want you to feel the emotion behind the paintbrush. See beyond the rose-colored glasses and taste the fire and passion from withinThis exhibition is like removing layers of an onion. The first 50 is a blueprint that was not my own. The exhibition, “The next 40 Years” are removing the mask and revealing my true colors."

Iris Beate Struller’s creativity is multifaceted.  While she has been writing forever, publishing her first book in 2018, she has found her passion for painting more recently.  “Combining the two really hasn’t been too difficult,” she says.  “Each craft requires a different focus, and I allow that to be, wherever it takes me for the day.

Her exhibit, “Around Town” features local vignettes of activity on water and land.  Iris’ favorite subject matter is Life, as she captures scenes that take place all around us. Iris has participated and received awards in various juried regional art shows throughout central Florida and was chosen to be the commemorative poster artist for the Melbourne Art Festival in April 2022.

Earth Celebration
An exhibition of art featuring:
Christine Velez Stone
Jax Kwok
Rose Marie Capasso
Through the month of June, the Studios of Cocoa Beach features an exhibition of three artists sharing a common theme. Although strangers to each other, their work reflects awareness of our home and celebrates the beauty that surrounds us.
Rose Marie Capasso, “My goal is to create awareness of how we can all help in little ways everyday, with recycling and conserving resources…”
Rose Marie works mainly with acrylics on canvas and mixed media. Her three major collections include: the World’s Critically Endangered Animals, Florida Wildlife, and Mandala Art. She is an advocate for the world’s wildlife and her paintings reflect a glimpse into the soul of her subjects. Her Mandalas promote meditative, relaxation and stress reducing benefits.
Jax Kwok, “My artistic creations exemplify the natural beauty of nature, but with touches of whimsy and the magic of fantasy.”
Jax Kwok, an acrylic artist, was born in Malaysian and studied in Taiwan. At the present time he lives in Merritt Island, Florida. He has been featured in magazine publications and won art awards locally and internationally.
His passion and unique artistic interpretation of both the geography of the land and the variety of floras, enable him to change the "ordinary" to the "extraordinary" in his expressive paintings.
Christine Velez Stone, “Let the color envelope you and take you to a place of serenity. Life is a picnic…Enjoy!”
Christine holds a degree in Visual Arts from Berkshire Community College in Massachusetts and studied art and design at La Academia Superior de Arte in Medellin, Colombia. This led to work as a designer and painter including murals, trompe l’oeil, faux finishes and set design for theater groups. Her award winning acrylic paintings have been in art shows throughout Florida.

The June Exhibition, Earth Celebration, runs from Tuesday, June 4 – Sunday, June 30. A reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, June 7, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Witness their unique creations at the Studios of Cocoa Beach.

Baby Lemonade’s Uchigatana Bijutsu (Katana Art) & Whimsical Expressions by Jax Kwok

“Baby Lemonade”, (Samantha Deebel), was born in Bangkok, Thailand.  Her first picture storybook, made at age five, was about her grandma being a witch.  Today she resides in Cape Canaveral, FL. She defines her art as “Cosmic Abstract Expressionism” and her artist statement: “Love and More Love”. “I have always had a fascination with Japanese Culture, especially Samurai’s, Sumo Wrestling and Kabuki. I love watching Akira Kurosawa’s films and believe I was a Samurai Warrior in one of my past lives.  A friend gifted me a Katana Sword and I was inspired to pick it up one day and paint with it! I really had fun creating new interpretations of texture on canvas. My work is the result of this Cosmic Encounter with a Katana.”

Jax Kwok, an acrylic artist, was born in Malaysian and studied in Taiwan. He has been featured in magazine publications and won art awards locally and internationally. At the present time he lives between Morristown, NJ and Cocoa Beach, FL.  He is always enamored with the natural beauty of his homeland geography and the distinct botanicals that thrive there.  His passion and unique artistic interpretation of both the geography of the land and the many floras of the gardens, enable him to change the "ordinary" to the "extraordinary" in his expressive paintings. “I only paint subject matter which makes me joyful, because I want the final product to make my audiences joyful as well! My artistic creations exemplify the natural beauty of nature, but with touches of whimsy and the magic of fantasy.” The May Exhibition runs from Tuesday, April 30 – Sunday, June 2.  Meet Baby Lemonade and Jax Kwok at the reception on Friday, May 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and witness their unique creations
